After exploring some very exciting South American coffees through the summer to fall months we are finishing off the year by bringing back a very smooth Ethiopian bean of the Kerume variety.  From the Yirgacheffe region in the central southern part of Ethiopia these beans come from the Adorsi washing station up in the lush mountains just a bit north east of the main town.  The growers are made of roughly 800 smallholder farmers.  Though most beans that come from the Yirgacheffe region are washed (which means the skin and mucilage is removed from the bean before drying) this batch is actually a natural/dry which is really neat because the sweet cherry mucilage has been allowed to dry on the surface which allows the sugars to soak into the bean making a sweater more fruit forward cup.  This cup sips extremely smooth and sweet.  It's not a wildly complex coffee but instead sweeter and fruiter which makes it incredibly friendly for folks who are looking to get into drinking black coffee without adding sugars or cream.
